February 2024 Newsletter

February 2024

Your update on the latest news and events from AHMP.

Message from the Board of Directors

The focus for the February newsletter is Membership, Membership, Membership!  There is a lot of work being done in the background by AHMP Committees and Volunteers to enhance a member’s experience.

First, Chapters and Sections can share events/activities on the AHMP calendar using the online submission portal.  This newly enhanced capability allows everyone an opportunity to be involved and plan meeting attendances based on one’s availability and location.  If you will be on travel, check the AHMP calendar to see if there is a local Chapter or Section meeting in your area.

Second, the Conference Committee and Professional Development Committee are making great strides planning and organizing events, technical sessions, tours, and membership engagement activities for the annual conference in Kansas City, MO. As home city to 2024 NFL Super Bowl Champions, the Chiefs, you can bet there will not be a dull moment! We encourage you to share ideas and provide input to the planning process to ensure AHMP puts our best step in ensuring a successful, educational, and fun event.

Third, we challenge our Chapters and Sections to increase membership by one new Member per quarter.  AHMP membership provides an opportunity for experienced practitioners to give back to the community by sharing knowledge and mentoring.  Emerging Professionals gain insights on career advancement opportunities.  No matter what stage in your career, AHMP Membership provides opportunities for education, leadership, recognition, and networking.  Invite a colleague or a friend to your next Chapter or Section meeting and share your AHMP success stories.
