August Webinar
Webinar: Risk Assessments Without Emotion Wednesday, August 28, 2024 | 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM EDT
Risk assessment is a fundamental tool for decision-making, yet its effectiveness often hinges on the accuracy and consistency of its application. While traditionally calculated as the product of probability and consequence, the subjective nature of these variables can introduce significant variability. This presentation will outline a structured approach to develop standardized risk matrices, mitigating the impact of emotional biases. By providing clear methodologies for quantifying risk, we will explore techniques to interpret results and determine appropriate risk tolerance levels. Ultimately, this talk aims to equip attendees with practical tools to make informed decisions based on robust risk assessments.

Bylaws Update
At the AHMP EHS Hazmat Summit in Kansas City, attendees were presented with a number of updates to the AHMP Bylaws – the document that defines how AHMP functions and makes decisions as an organization. These updates cleaned up some language and brought the Bylaws more into alignment with how the organization has evolved. Those updates were then sent to the entire membership for a vote. The membership was given the opportunity to vote for or against each of 13 separate changes.
The members have now spoken and all changes were approved, with at least 80% approving each change and some changes approved by as much as 98.6% of those voting! The newly revised Bylaws are now posted on the AHMP website. For those who didn’t have the opportunity to review the changes, a redline copy and an explanation of changes will remain on the website at least to the end of the year.
EHMM Course | September 11 – November 20, 2024

The EHMM training curriculum aligns directly with the new AHMP Desk Reference (vs. 4) and a complimentary electronic copy of the Desk Reference is included with your EHMM course registration. If you’re unsure if this is a suitable course for you, please contact our EHMM course facilitator, Jennifer Koenig at (812) 945-1541 or [email protected].
