Most recently we’ve added a negotiated 15% discount on BLR’s EHS Hero, a valuable cloud-based data and workflow tool for managing EHS compliance.
And we’re looking to add more. If you have a product or service that you particularly value, please reach out to any Board member or email [email protected] with the details. Just supply us a contact and we’ll take it from there. If your company has a product or service that you’d like to offer to AHMP members at a discount, we’d love to hear about that too.
We’re also looking to expand our webinar series. Nearly 100 of you took advantage of the recent “OSHA Updates the Hazard Communication Standard”. And for those who didn’t make it, the recording is available at www.ahmpnet.org/webinars. We’re planning the next session on an oft-ignored fire safety issue. See below for details. We’d like to hear from you on other topics you’d like to see covered.
Have an issue that you wrestle with? Let us know and we’ll find a speaker.
Already know of a great speaker? All the better.
Have a presentation you’d like to offer? We’d love to talk.
Remember, AHMP is YOUR professional association and a tool for helping you in your career. But, like any tool, it will only provide value if you use it. I look forward to seeing you on one of our next webinars or even in person at the Hazmat Summit in Louisville this September!

Webinar: Inspection Requirements for Fire Water Tanks
Tuesday, May 20, 2025 3:00 AM - 4:00 PM EDT
If your municipal water supply lacks the required pressure for fire protection, your insurance company may require installation of a fire pump and water storage tank. Insurance companies and local fire departments require maintenance and periodic inspections of the tanks. In this presentation, TTI Environmental staff will break down the guidelines and regulations that apply to firewater systems and how to conform to the requirements. We’ll also discuss inspection methods, including those that do not require taking the tanks out of service. Performing inspections reduces risk, may save on insurance premiums, and helps avoid fire department violations and fines.
Speaker: Patricia B Stock, TTI Environmental
Ms. Stock currently manages TTI’s aboveground storage tank inspectors and technicians, along with their support staff. She provides technical expertise with pressure vessel calculations and standards interpretation related to mechanical integrity. She provides regulatory assistance to clients related to release prevention techniques and asset management to achieve compliance. She is an expert in EHS management and compliance with 30 years of experience. Ms. Stock clients are from academic, federal, municipal, and industry sectors.

Strengthening Professional Development Through Partnership with AHMP The Institute of Hazardous Materials Management (IHMM) and the Alliance of Hazardous Materials Professionals (AHMP) have formalized their commitment to advancing education and professional development for EHS professionals through a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Effective November 1, 2024, this agreement outlines a collaborative framework for promoting training opportunities, credential awareness, and industry best practices among IHMM certificants and AHMP members.
As part of this initiative, an AHMP/IHMM Liaison has been established to facilitate communication, foster engagement, and strengthen the relationship between the two organizations. This role will support efforts to ensure IHMM credential holders gain access to AHMP’s extensive educational resources while expanding AHMP’s reach within the IHMM community. Dave Rice, CHMM, an AHMP Board of Director, is currently serving in this role.
This partnership reflects a shared commitment to enhancing the knowledge and professional growth of hazardous materials and safety professionals. Through cross-promotion of educational content, event collaboration, and credential advocacy, IHMM and AHMP are paving the way for a stronger, more interconnected EHS community.
Stay tuned for updates on joint initiatives and upcoming training opportunities in future editions of IHMM Today!
IHMM Joins Community Impact Coalition in Washington Anticipating significant tax legislation in 2025, ASAE announced today the launch of the Community Impact Coalition — a unified initiative dedicated to educating the 119th Congress about the social and economic benefits of associations, charities, and other tax-exempt organizations.
The Community Impact Coalition is a national group formed this year to represent the non-profit community in light of unprecedented attempts to find new sources of federal revenue to finance tax reform.
The Community Impact Coalition is committed to ensuring lawmakers understand the value of 501(c) organizations and advocating against proposals that would eliminate their tax-exempt status. A wide range of trade associations, charities, and professional societies support the Community Impact Coalition, among them the Institute of Hazardous Materials Management [IHMM].
